PRODUCTIVE DAY AT THE EASEL

Another busy day in the studio. I am closing in on the completion of another painting. It is very high key in color and quite reposed in mood. That in it self is a challenge. I will post it when it is complete. The rains are back and Bill is at the museum working so I had the entire day to paint. It helps when I can completely immerse myself in the work.

CREATIVE STIMULATION

What a beautiful weekend it was for working in the garden. We drove out of town to the fabulous Hughes water gardens to get a pond filter. I was I was so excited about all the beautiful things they have when my husband said" you should have married someone who could support your lavish desires." My response was "I am very happy where I am, We don't always have to have every thing that we think is beautiful. We can just enjoy taking in it's beauty and be inspired by it.Let it enrich our life by simply giving us joy in that moment. Besides , not having everything I find beautiful, just stimulates my own creativity.

DAILY PAINTER, SONJA DONNELLY

LIGHT AND SHADOW, COLOR  AND LINE,
                  A LONGING FOR BEAUTY
                     IN IT'S PUREST FORM
                              SIMPLICITY

In art like theater, I believe it is essential to portray beauty with purity and drama. Having art in your home is having a fragment of that theatrical dramatization. It's expressive powers can  take you on a journey into it's depths.
I strive to create a paintings that will express itslf with true beauty.
I wish to give you a bit of theater with all it's varied emotions.
And I try to do it with clarity and simplicity.
